Two Babies Suffered Brain Injuries at Same Weatherford Hospital; One Died, Lawsuits Allege
Two sets of parents have filed lawsuits against Medical City Weatherford Hospital and two physicians at Weatherford OB/GYN Associates, alleging negligence caused catastrophic brain injuries to their newborns born 25 days apart in September and October 2025. Layton Holloway (born Sept. 17, 2025) survived with permanent brain injury expected to cause cerebral palsy, while Ryker McKinley (born Oct. 12, 2025) died Nov. 25, 2025 after 44 days on a ventilator at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. The families' attorney alleged delivery-room staff were unqualified to resuscitate the infants and warned expectant mothers away from the hospital until properly trained personnel are available. The lawsuits, filed Oct. 9 in Dallas County, seek monetary relief exceeding $1 million each.
