Teen Charged After AI-Altered Image Framed Ex for Riverview High School Shooting Threat
A 15-year-old former student of Riverview High School in Hillsborough County, Florida, was charged after authorities said she used an AI-altered image to frame her ex-boyfriend for a school shooting threat. Deputies responded to the school on Wednesday after administrators received an email containing a screenshot of an Instagram post threatening a shooting. Detectives determined the male student named in the post had not made it, and the former student admitted to sending the altered image. She faces charges including written or electronic threat to conduct a mass shooting, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and disrupting a school campus.
