Video Shows Seaplane Emergency Landing on I-80 Near USA Parkway
Nevada State Police released video Oct. 27 showing a Seawind 3000 seaplane making an emergency landing on westbound Interstate 80 near USA Parkway, about 28 miles east of Reno, on Oct. 22. The pilot maneuvered to avoid vehicles before skidding the aircraft's hull to a stop after experiencing mechanical failure. No injuries were reported. The crash blocked all westbound I-80 lanes for approximately three hours and remains under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
