Tahoe Community Foundation Grants $30K to Keep Tahoe Blue for Conservation Programs
The Tahoe Community Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to environmental nonprofit Keep Tahoe Blue to expand science-guided programs protecting Lake Tahoe from aquatic invasive species, including the golden mussel. The funding supports the Eyes on the Lake program (marina training, watercraft cleaning stations, public outreach), the Tahoe Blue Schools program and Spurlock/Evers Environment & Education Center for students, and the Tahoe Blue Crew volunteer cleanup initiative that collects citizen-science data on trash and environmental threats. Keep Tahoe Blue was one of four nonprofits recognized through the Community Foundation's 30-year anniversary grant initiative.
