Immigration Enforcement Reported at Early Voting Polls in Leon and Monroe Counties
Election supervisors in Leon and Monroe counties reported sightings of federal immigration enforcement agents near polling places during early voting. In Leon County, two U.S. Customs and Border Patrol vehicles were observed at the Northeast Branch Library on Monday, while masked agents reportedly conducted a stop at a Key Largo polling place in Monroe County on Tuesday. Both county officials have contacted the FBI regarding the incidents, which violate federal laws prohibiting armed federal activities around polling places unless force is necessary. State election officials and ICE did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
