Seminole County Confirms Locally-Acquired Dengue Case; Mosquito Spraying Rescheduled for Oct. 30

The Florida Department of Health confirmed a locally-acquired dengue fever case in Seminole County and issued a health advisory Wednesday, coordinating with Seminole County Mosquito Control on surveillance and prevention. Officials did not specify where within the county the case occurred. Separately, Orange County Mosquito Control rescheduled aerial spraying for parts of Apopka and Pine Hills to Friday, October 30 at 7 p.m., citing weather forecasts; additional spraying is planned next week in areas previously treated on October 16 and October 20. Florida health officials report the state's largest dengue outbreak in years, with hundreds of locally-acquired cases across several counties.
