Hurricane Isaias Insurance Claims Top $580 Million in Florida
Insured losses in Florida from Hurricane Isaias have reached approximately $582 million as of Tuesday, with over 55,000 claims filed statewide. The majority of these claims originated from the western Panhandle, particularly Santa Rosa and Escambia counties. Governor Ron DeSantis has requested a major disaster declaration to secure federal resources for affected communities in northwest Florida. Six deaths have been linked to the storm.
