Eagle Butte Man Gets 10+ Years for Child Abuse on Pine Ridge Reservation
Emanual Semon, 24, of Eagle Butte was sentenced Monday to 10 years and one month in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for sexually abusing a minor at a home on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The July 2024 incident led to a federal grand jury indictment that same month, and Semon was convicted after a three-day trial in May under the Major Crimes Act. He was also ordered to pay a $200 assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. The FBI and Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety investigated the case.
