Pierre Residents Charged With Social Security Fraud After Beneficiary Death
Two Pierre residents, Beth Miley and Jason Miley, face federal charges for allegedly continuing to withdraw Social Security disability benefits after the beneficiary died in February 2023. Prosecutors allege the pair made monthly withdrawals from a bank account not belonging to them between January 2024 and May 2026. Both defendants pleaded not guilty on October 15 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno and were released on bond.
