Broward Sex Offender Faces New Charges for Communication With Minor From Prison
Martin County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered a contraband cellphone in the cell of Thomas Kendall Jr., 44, of Deerfield Beach, who has been serving a 25-year sentence at Martin Correctional Institution since 2024 for Broward County charges of lewd or lascivious molestation and conduct and video voyeurism. The device showed Kendall had been communicating with a minor on social media and contained thousands of child sexual abuse images and AI-generated pornographic images depicting his original victim, according to the Sheriff's Office news release shared Thursday. Kendall will be transferred to county jail to face new charges including possession of child sexual abuse material. As of Friday night, he remained at the state prison in disciplinary confinement.
