Border Patrol Vehicles Seen at Leon County Polling Site; Agents Reported in Key Largo
Two Florida counties reported immigration enforcement presence at or near early voting polling places on Oct. 19-20, 2026. In Leon County, Supervisor of Elections Mark Earley confirmed two U.S. Customs and Border Patrol vehicles were seen at the Northeast Branch Library, the county's busiest polling site, on Monday for approximately 10 minutes. In Monroe County, Supervisor of Elections Sherri Hodies launched an investigation after reports of masked federal agents conducting a stop at a Key Largo polling place on Tuesday. Both supervisors contacted the FBI. Federal law prohibits armed federal agents from conducting activities in and around polling places unless force is necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States.
