Clearwater Man Charged With Threatening to Shoot Trump at Kansas Rally
Jaden John Read, 24, of Clearwater, was arrested Saturday and charged federally with making threats against President Trump in Oct. 15 Facebook comments on KAKE and KWCH posts about a Monday rally in Park City. The charges followed an Oct. 15 Crime Stoppers tip; Read's comments included references to owning firearms and having "mapped out roofs" near the event venue. U.S. Attorney Ryan A. Kriegshauser's office charged Read with one count of making threats against the president, and he remains in federal custody pending a detention hearing. If convicted, Read faces up to five years in federal prison and a maximum $250,000 fine.
