Trump Speaks in Topeka as Kansas Farmers Face Rising Costs Ahead of Midterms
President Trump addressed a crowd in Topeka, Kansas on Monday, urging Republican voters to support Senate candidate Roger Marshall over Democrat Adam Hamilton in the final weeks before midterm elections. Kansas Farm Bureau president Glenn Brunkow described growing financial pressure on farmers from diesel prices more than $2.50 per gallon higher than a year ago, tariffs, and unpredictable markets. Western Kansas rancher and former state House majority leader Don Hineman said frustration among GOP voters extends beyond agriculture, citing immigration raids that detained more than 100 people in western Kansas. Hamilton, who has attracted endorsements from two former Republican governors, said in a video statement that Kansans who voted for Trump also have a place in his campaign.
