Gainesville Teen Charged With Attempting to Make Explosive Device
A 15-year-old Buchholz High School student was arrested in Alachua County, Florida, following a joint investigation by sheriff's deputies and the FBI into his online contact with ISIS supporters. Investigators said the teen asked for help building drones and explosives to attack people at an unknown location. Authorities searched his home on Monday with parental consent and found two jars containing chemicals reportedly used to make TATP, a dangerous explosive. The Alachua County Bomb Squad secured the materials, and the teen was charged with making or attempting to make a destructive device; additional charges may follow.
