Four Corners Flood Warnings Remain in Effect; Voting Proceeds Nov. 3
Historically heavy rain has caused devastating flooding across the Four Corners region of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado, with at least two deaths linked to the event. In Camp Verde, Arizona, the Verde River rose more than 20 feet on Sunday (Nov. 1), displacing residents from the Wagon Wheel Trailer Ranch. Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves said helicopter crews rescued at least 27 people from homes and businesses in Sedona, Camp Verde, and surrounding communities. Multiple water treatment plants spilled raw sewage into rivers, and extensive damage was reported to roads and bridges including major highways, with flooding extending into Nevada. State officials indicated flooding would not significantly impact Election Day voting, noting early voting had already occurred and emergency ballot provisions were in place.
