Red Flag Warning for Central California Through 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16
The National Weather Service in Hanford issued an updated red flag warning Wednesday at 6:20 p.m., valid from Thursday at 3 a.m. through Friday at 10 p.m. for the Central Sierra, North Kings River, Sequoia Kings, Lake Isabella, Tehachapi area, and Fort Tejon. Warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine, increasing the risk of rapid fire spread. Residents in affected areas are urged to secure burn barrels, properly extinguish outdoor fires, avoid discarding smoking materials outdoors, and never leave fires unattended.
