UA Police Investigate Sexual Assault Report at Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity House

The University of Arizona Police Department is investigating a reported sexual assault at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house, with a UA sorority student alleging she was assaulted by two men during the early morning hours of August 26. One accused man told detectives in a recorded call that contact was consensual and denied a second person was present; no arrests or formal charges have been filed, and a search warrant was obtained for surveillance footage from the house. The chapter was already on probation through May 2027 following a July hazing investigation, and UA Dean of Students Chrissy Lieberman temporarily suspended fraternity activities earlier this month citing an "egregious volume and severity" of open misconduct investigations.

Traveling Miniature Museum 'Office of Collecting and Design' Open Behind Tucson Museum of Art Through Sunday, Oct. 18

Filmmaker Jessica Oreck's traveling pop-up museum, the Office of Collecting and Design, is parked behind the Tucson Museum of Art downtown from October 14 through October 18, 2026. The 42-foot trailer houses hundreds of drawers filled with nostalgic everyday objects—dice, tiny plastic food, rubber erasers—and offers one-hour self-guided tours or scavenger hunts limited to six visitors at a time. The Tucson stop sold out, the first in Oreck's fall 2026 tour season, and is paired with combined ticket sales through the Tucson Museum of Art. Off-site community events included a Tiny Things Market on October 13 and a show-and-tell essay club on October 15.
