San Jose Couple Charged After 8-Year-Old's Asthma Death Ruled Homicide

Gabrielle Hanson and Jacob Randolph of East San Jose were arraigned Tuesday on felony child neglect charges after their 8-year-old daughter, Aurora Williams, died from a severe asthma attack in May. Jonathan Hanson was separately charged with molesting a step-sibling in the household and possessing child pornography. The Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children's Services had frequent involvement with the residence; Rosen called for reforms to the county's child welfare system. All defendants are scheduled to return to court November 20 to enter pleas.
