Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a national nonprofit providing beds to children in need, will host a community bed-building event on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowe's of Sunnyvale, 811 E. Arques Ave., in partnership with San Francisco 49ers safety Ji'Ayir Brown and his foundation. Volunteers of all skill levels are invited; SHP will provide tools, materials, and hands-on direction.
