Powell, Harding Debate for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District Seat
Democrat Denise Powell and Republican Brinker Harding debated Wednesday night for Nebraska's open 2nd Congressional District seat, held by retiring five-term Rep. Don Bacon. The district encompasses the Omaha area and parts of surrounding rural counties, and has voted Democratic in recent presidential elections while electing a Republican representative. Candidates sparred on immigration, healthcare, and outside PAC spending, with Harding calling Powell too far left and Powell tying Harding to President Trump's endorsements and policies. Cook Political Report and Inside Elections ratings have shifted toward confidence in a Powell victory, though the district has defied similar predictions before.
