The National Weather Service in San Francisco issued a beach hazards statement on Saturday, Oct. 31, valid from Monday, Nov. 2 at 5 a.m. through Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. for the Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore and San Francisco Peninsula Coast. The NWS warned of an increased risk for sneaker waves and strong rip currents, noting that waves can sweep across shorelines without warning and pull people into the sea from beaches, jetties, and rocks. Residents are advised to stay off jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside infrastructure, remain out of the water, and never turn their back on the ocean.
