Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed Over Greg Biffle Plane Crash in Statesville
The estate of Craig Wadsworth filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in Iredell County against the estates of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, pilot Dennis Dutton, Jack Dutton, and GB Aviation Leasing LLC. The suit alleges Biffle allowed the pilot's 20-year-old son to serve as co-pilot without proper qualifications to avoid the expense of a professional crew. Seven people, including Biffle and Wadsworth, died in the late December 2025 plane crash in Statesville. Four lawsuits totaling $40 million have been filed against Biffle's estate. The filing also alleges GB Aviation Leasing held no FAA air carrier certificate.
