A 20-inch water main broke during overnight construction in Jersey City on October 16, forcing a two-way closure of Jersey Avenue between 18th Street in Jersey City and Jackson Street in Hoboken. The City of Hoboken issued a Nixle alert at approximately 7:18 AM advising drivers to allow extra time and consider northern routes. Marin Boulevard and Grove Street remain open for southbound traffic leaving Hoboken, though northbound access on Grove Street is restricted due to ongoing construction.
