Trump Rallies ~1,500 at Pitt-Greenville Airport Ahead of Nov. 3 Election
President Trump spoke to approximately 1,500 supporters Tuesday night at Pitt-Greenville Airport in Greenville, North Carolina, urging voters to elect Republican candidates including Senate nominee Michael Whatley over Democrat Roy Cooper. National Republican groups pulled ad funding from Whatley's campaign as the University of Virginia Center for Politics shifted NC's 1st and 11th Congressional District ratings to "leans Democrat," and the No Going Back PAC withdrew from the 11th District race. Trump tied pending Camp Lejeune contaminated-water settlements to Republican electoral success, promising DOJ action on remaining claims if Republicans win Congress; Gov. Josh Stein condemned the conditional framing. Early Republican turnout was down compared to 2022 midterm levels, according to Western Carolina University political science professor Chris Cooper.
