Eagle Butte Nonprofit Among 10 Finalists for $25M Homeownership Initiative
Four Bands Community Fund in Eagle Butte was selected from more than 500 applicants as one of 10 finalists in Capital One's $25 million Scaling Pathways to Homeownership initiative, announced Oct. 15. The nonprofit's proposal, the "Cheyenne River Homeownership Navigator," would combine financial coaching, construction lending and mortgage-readiness assistance to address barriers to homeownership on the Cheyenne River Reservation. As a finalist, Four Bands receives $200,000 in initial funding and technical assistance from Spring Impact. Five finalists are expected to be selected in spring 2027 to receive $4.6 million each over five years. If awarded, the investment would add 125 homeownership units to Cheyenne River's housing stock.
