Father Describes Confronting Shooter at Bend Elementary School
Kaylub Giamanco, 36, described in a public interview how he army-crawled into Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, and confronted the armed teen who had killed three children (ages 5, 8, and 11) and a teacher. The 16-year-old shooter, identified as former student Griffin J. John II, reportedly blasted through locked doors with a shotgun and attacked a special-needs classroom before Giamanco entered and fired. Another student was critically injured and a teacher was hospitalized. Police confirmed Giamanco carried his gun legally and credited him and an unarmed teacher with saving lives.
