Stray Bullet Found at Barksdale Middle School Tennis Court
A coach discovered a stray bullet on a tennis court at Barksdale Middle School in Northwest ISD, prompting Superintendent Mark Foust to temporarily relocate all outdoor activities at the back of the school, he said in a letter to parents Thursday. This is the third such incident since May 9, when a bullet struck the building's exterior brick wall during construction; a second was found July 28 near the football stadium press box. A Denton County judge granted Northwest ISD a restraining order in August against Quail Creek Gun Range after those earlier incidents. Northlake police were notified, and the district's Safety & Security Department swept the area with a metal detector. A new court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 5.
