Man Dies After Falling From Goliath Coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia; 9 Rides Temporarily Closed

A 42-year-old Atlanta-area man was killed Monday after being ejected from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia in Cobb County, Georgia. Cobb County police and the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner are investigating how the rider fell from the ride and whether restraint issues were involved. In response, Six Flags Entertainment Corp. temporarily closed nine similar coasters across six parks in the U.S. and Canada, including rides at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Great America, Great Adventure, Carowinds, and Canada's Wonderland. The Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard is also investigating. The victim worked as an IT manager at Wesley International Academy.
