Minnesota Farmers See Crop Price Rally Offset High Diesel Costs
A better-than-expected 2026 harvest may bring financial relief to Minnesota farmers after rough results in 2025 fueled foreclosure worries, according to a report distributed by The Woodland Daily Democrat. Corn futures rose about 18% and soybean prices about 27% over the past year as international conflict disrupted global crop exports, while diesel in Minnesota climbed from $3.57 to $6.13 per gallon, AAA reported Oct. 13. USDA data from Oct. 13 showed 61% of Minnesota's corn and soybean crops in good or excellent condition. Farmers near Montevideo in Chippewa County and in Mahnomen County described mixed results, with northwestern drought cutting some soybean yields roughly in half.
