Sikh Parade Begins Sunday, Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. in Yuba City
The 2026 Sutter County Nagar Kirtan, known as the Sikh Parade, begins at 10 a.m. Sunday in Yuba City, with authorities expecting hundreds of thousands of attendees for the city of about 70,000. The procession follows a 4.5-mile route through Yuba City, led by a float carrying the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy scripture. The Sutter County Sheriff's Office, Yuba City Police Department, and Yuba City Fire Department have developed joint safety plans including reference markers on telephone poles along the route to help attendees identify locations for emergency responders. Residents are asked to have resident passes or valid identification at checkpoints, and a color-coded map with QR code has been shared for parking and road closure information. Weekend festivities began Friday at 8 p.m. with Kirtan Darbar hymns and fireworks, followed by Saturday's Nishan Sahib flag raising and scripture readings.
