PG&E Power Shutoffs Through Noon Saturday Affect 18,000+ Tuolumne and Calaveras Customers

More than 18,000 PG&E customers across Tuolumne and Calaveras counties experienced multiday public safety power shutoffs beginning late Wednesday, with electricity expected to remain off through noon Saturday. Residents along the Highway 108 corridor in Twain Harte and Mi-Wuk Village voiced frustration as winds remained minimal during the initial outage period. PG&E opened community resource centers at Eproson Park in Twain Harte and Word of Life Fellowship in Mi-Wuk Village, open 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Thursday and Friday. A National Weather Service red flag warning for northeast winds and low humidity applied through 10 a.m. Friday across the Sierra above 1,000-foot elevations.
