Man Accused in Topeka Crime Spree With 17 Victims; $3M Bond Set
Topeka police say Adam Schwegman allegedly stabbed three people, broke into two homes (one containing four children including a four-month-old), and attacked a 70-year-old woman at Ward Meade Park on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Bystander Ron Hubbard tripped Schwegman during the park attack, causing him to drop a knife before police apprehended him. Schwegman faces 16 charges, including aggravated battery and an allegation of rape, with a total bond set at $3 million following his first court appearance on Thursday, Oct. 29.
