Highway 37 Closed From 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday; Alternate Routes Available
Caltrans is closing both directions of a 10-mile stretch of Highway 37 from just west of Vallejo near Wilson Avenue to Sears Point at the Highway 121 split, from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, to prepare for impending El Niño storms. Alternate routes include exiting Interstate 80 about six miles north via Highway 12 for Napa Valley and Sonoma County coast access, or staying on I-80 through the East Bay and taking Highway 580 near Richmond to cross the Richmond Bridge for Marin County destinations. Detour signs will direct motorists approaching the closure north around it, adding approximately 17 miles via Highways 12, 29 and 121. Capitol Corridor train service from Sacramento Valley Station offers a car-free option to San Francisco or San Rafael via BART connections in Richmond, with tickets approximately $28.
