Soda Fire in Siskiyou County Reaches 90% Containment, Oct. 24
The Soda Fire, first discovered at 9:42 p.m. Oct. 18 in Bear Creek southwest of Sterling Mountain in Siskiyou County, California, had consumed 13.8 acres by Saturday evening, Oct. 24. The fire reached 90% containment as of that evening, meaning 90% of the perimeter was enclosed by control lines while 10% remained uncontrolled. The fire is managed by the USFS Klamath National Forest unit, and its cause remains unknown.
