Stepmother Charged With Child Abuse in Randolph County, W.Va.
MaCayla Johnson, 24, has been charged with child abuse resulting in injury by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office after allegedly striking her 7-year-old stepdaughter with a belt. The girl's father contacted school officials to report the incident, which court documents say occurred the evening before. Authorities confirmed bruising on the girl's arms, hand, and lower back. Johnson was held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bond set at $2,000 cash.
