Broward Teachers Union Threatens Lawsuit After President Removed From School Board Meeting

The disruption occurred during a 6-3 vote to fire district procurement director Jennifer Andreu, whom the Broward County Office of the Inspector General found had mismanaged a contract and misled the school board. Leonardi ordered the removal after repeated audience disruptions, while the district stated the decision was based on conduct, not viewpoint. Fusco maintains her First Amendment rights were violated and that proper due process was not followed in Andreu's termination; Andreu plans to appeal her firing.
