Idaho Prosecutor Seeks Death Penalty for Mother Accused of Killing Twins in Payette
Payette County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Ryon Sirucek filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Andrea Shaw, 23, charged with two counts of first-degree murder after her 18-month-old twins, Dallas and Tyson, were found dead in their shared bed in May 2025. An autopsy report indicated symptoms consistent with smothering, while Payette County Prosecutor Mike Duke stated that vaccines, heat exposure, and carbon monoxide poisoning had been ruled out as causes. Shaw pleaded not guilty in August and has claimed the deaths resulted from vaccine reactions, a narrative amplified by Children's Health Defense, which named her lead plaintiff in a federal lawsuit against the American Academy of Pediatrics. The trial is set to begin Jan. 11.
