Lodi Unified School District's Measure T was above the threshold it needs in San Joaquin County's first results for the Nov. 3 election. As of 1:11 a.m. Wednesday, the bond had 17,707 yes votes (58.35%) and 12,640 no votes (41.65%). A school bond like Measure T needs approval from 55% of the voters voting on it.

Measure T would let the district sell up to $195 million in general obligation bonds. The ballot question lists repairs to leaky roofs, plumbing, deteriorating electrical and gas lines, and heating and air conditioning, along with school security and career-training and college-preparation classrooms. County Counsel's impartial analysis says the money couldn't pay teacher or administrator salaries and that the measure requires an independent citizens' oversight committee and annual audits.

The county labels these "semi-final official" results; they aren't certified. Its count so far covers 121,252 ballots, a turnout of 29.2% of the county's 415,611 registered voters.

Two Lodi Unified board races were close. In Trustee Area 3, Sherry Alexander had 1,819 votes (54.79%) to Katherine King's 1,501 (45.21%). In Trustee Area 5, Ron Heberle had 1,579 (52.62%) to Jeff Stroh's 1,422 (47.38%).
