The Davis Joint Unified School District has scheduled a live community webinar on its annual budget for Thursday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom, according to a district news post dated Oct. 28.

In the post, the district says it “is entering a period of sustained declining enrollment and ongoing budget reductions.” It says that as enrollment declines and costs continue to rise, it faces financial challenges that will require careful planning and difficult decisions about how resources are allocated to support students, schools and programs.

Superintendent Best is hosting the webinar. The district says the presentation will explain how the district receives and spends funding, review enrollment forecasts and budget projections, and discuss potential future budget reductions and the timeline for upcoming decisions. A limited question-and-answer period will also be provided.

Spanish, Mandarin and Korean interpretation will be available. For those who cannot attend, the district says a recording of the presentation will be posted on its website on Friday, Nov. 13.
