Cal Fire Prescribed Burns Set for Oct. 26-27 East of Angwin
Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit plans a two-day prescribed burn Monday and Tuesday off Chiles Pope Valley Road, east of Angwin in rural northern Napa County. The operation targets about 100 acres of grassland and brush, starting as early as 8 a.m. each day, to reduce flammable fuels below the communities of Angwin and Howell Mountain. Cal Fire will deploy four engines, two crews and one dozer, while Napa County Fire contributes two engines and two water tenders. The burn is subject to last-minute changes due to weather forecasts, smoke management or fire safety guidelines.
