Jones Outpaces Thompson in Fundraising Ahead of Nov. 3 Congressional Race
Eric Jones raised $13.2 million for the election cycle to challenge Rep. Mike Thompson in California's 4th Congressional District, including $10 million of his own money, according to FEC filings. Thompson reported raising $5.2 million for the cycle and won the June 2 primary with 41% of the vote versus Jones' 22%. The two Democrats debated Oct. 7 at Sacramento NBC affiliate KCRA-TV and Oct. 8 at a League of Women Voters event in Woodland, trading criticism over campaign spending and special-interest ties. Thompson, a St. Helena native serving since 1999, is seeking his 15th two-year term.
