Idaho's Abortion Ban Ballot Measure Goes to Voters Tuesday, Nov. 3
Rebecca Crozier of Meridian, Idaho, received a fatal fetal diagnosis (anencephaly) during her pregnancy in 2025 but could not access the procedure in-state due to Idaho's near-total abortion ban, which contains no exceptions for fatal anomalies. She and her husband traveled to Utah for the procedure at an out-of-pocket cost of approximately $4,000. Idaho voters will decide Tuesday, November 3, whether Proposition 1 should restore abortion access until fetal viability, reversing the state's current prohibition enacted after the 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade. The measure faces organized opposition from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise, which collectively donated over $1.3 million against it. A Boise State University School of Public Service poll last November showed 61% support for restoring reproductive rights, though recent polling has tightened.
