331 Acres of Tri-Valley Land Permanently Protected as Open Space
Purchase-and-sale transactions closed Tuesday for conservation easements covering 331 acres in Doolan Canyon and the Springtown Preserve, creating a nearly 1,500-acre wildlife corridor held by the Tri-Valley Conservancy. The 131-acre Doolan Canyon parcel lies north of the Dublin-Livermore junction, while the 200-acre Springtown Preserve easement sits in north Livermore. The easements mitigate habitat loss from Trumark Homes' East Ranch housing project, a 573-unit development spanning about 165 acres in east Dublin. The Livermore City Council approved the roughly $4 million purchase in September 2022. The adjacent Doolan Canyon Regional Preserve, owned by the East Bay Regional Park District, is under study for potential future public access.
