Wine Enthusiast magazine has named Livermore Valley the 2026 American Wine Region of the Year, recognizing its approximately 50 independent and family-owned wineries. The award highlights the region's quality improvements while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, with signature varietals including Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc at long-standing producers like Wente Family Vineyards and Concannon Vineyard. The Livermore Valley Wine Community credited collaborative efforts such as expanded winemaker education, outside vineyard expertise, and improved laboratory access for the region's progress. In early 2025, the wine club co-founded The Global Artisan Vintners Alliance, a partnership network of wine regions worldwide. The region will be honored at Wine Enthusiast's 27th Annual Wine Star Awards gala in January.
