Snake River Avenue Construction Nearly Complete; Expected Done by Thanksgiving

A $7 million project rebuilding about 9½ blocks of Snake River Avenue north of the Southway Roundabout in Lewiston is between 90 and 100% complete, Public Works Director Dustin Johnson said Tuesday. The work addresses chronic flooding and stormwater issues, adds a dedicated turning lane, improves pedestrian routes, and eases rush-hour congestion. Remaining paving near the skate park parking lot, CCI/Speer, and along 11th Avenue between Snake River and Prospect avenues is anticipated close to Halloween. The project began in April and is part of a larger corridor plan that started in 2013 with the Southway Roundabout installation.
