Leesburg Commission to hold hearing Monday on proposed apartment complex
Leesburg commissioners will hold a public hearing Monday night regarding a controversial proposal for a high-density apartment complex south of South Street and west of Lucas Street. The project, which would add 30 apartments to a two-story building on a 2.62-acre parcel, requires a rezoning from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential. Both the city’s Planning Commission and Planning and Zoning staff have recommended denial of the request, citing concerns about parcel size, density, traffic, and the substandard condition of Lucas Street.
