Stanislaus Sheriff Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Oct. 19 and 21, 7 a.m.–Noon
The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office will conduct "maximum enforcement" traffic operations Monday, Oct. 19, and Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 7 a.m. to noon, targeting driver behaviors that endanger pedestrians. Deputies will focus on failures to yield at crosswalks, speeding, illegal turns, and running stop signs or signals as part of National Pedestrian Safety Month. Deputy Matthew Orr emphasized drivers' responsibility to slow down, follow speed limits, and yield to people walking.
