Wind Advisory for Imperial County Desert Areas Thursday 11 p.m. to Friday 6 a.m.
The NWS Phoenix issued a wind advisory on Wednesday covering the Chuckwalla Mountains, Imperial County Southeast, Palo Verde Valley, and Chuckwalla Valley, valid from Thursday at 11 p.m. through Friday at 6 a.m. North winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected, creating difficult driving conditions especially for larger vehicles encountering crosswinds. The NWS warns that light, unsecured objects may become airborne and strong winds over desert areas could briefly reduce visibility to well under a mile due to blowing dust or sand.
