Police Thwart Alleged Hollister High School Shooting Plan
Hollister Police arrested Carlos Barajas Ramirez, 18, of Hollister, on suspicion of publishing threats to commit a school shooting at Hollister High School, per an Oct. 30 press release. The investigation began Sept. 27 when the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center alerted local police about a person planning to purchase a firearm for a school shooting; the FBI also assisted. Officers obtained direct messages through warrants and arrested Ramirez at his residence, where he was booked at San Benito County Jail. Police confirmed there is currently no threat to Hollister High School.
