Man Convicted of Murder in Fatal Crash That Killed Retired Deputy in Cincinnati
Rodney Hinton Jr. was convicted of murder Friday for fatally striking retired Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Deputy Larry Ray Henderson Jr. with his car during a college graduation traffic detail in Cincinnati. The May 2025 crash occurred hours after family members viewed body camera footage showing a Cincinnati police officer fatally shooting Hinton's 18-year-old son, Ryan Hinton, who was found to have pointed a gun at officers during a chase. Hinton pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity; his attorney said he would appeal the conviction. Hinton faces 15 years to life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for Nov. 16.
